Early Elgin antique Gold Filled Pocket watch. Movement is a nickel finished 7 jewel Os movement. Fancy bright damaskeening . Watch does not run, but has a good balance. Watch winds and sets correctly. Dial and hands are nice. Case is a very nice Philadelphia watch case company 14 karat warranted 20 year Gold Filled case. Case has some light wear and no brass and sharp detailed engraving. A very attractive case. Please see pictures for more information and condition. Sold as is. This Elgin “pentadecagon” pocket watch, or 15 sided, is exceptionally rare. Case is in beautiful condition with slight hard to see scratches and tiny bit of gold wearing visible with magnifier. Hinged back plate.
Identification Details. It has a visible train of gears, typical of open-face or hunter pocket watches from the era. Serial numbers in the ~10 million range for Elgin typically point to production around 1905–1910 (late Victorian/Edwardian period).
