Girrard-Perregaux Skeleton Pocket Watch w/ Chain Black Dial Roman Numerals
As part of a 1940 Shell advertising campaign, the company wanted to prove that the motor oil could lubricate a fine watch. Shell commissioned Gerard-Perregaux to produce 30,000 see-through “skeletonized watches” that were sold that Shell stations for only $5. The two different Shell fobs were used during the advertising campaign. There were only offered with a 1940 full color magazine ad for the watch. Recently taken to the watch shop and is working perfectly.
