This vintage 1947 ladies Bulova cocktail watch features a manual-wind 17-jewel Caliber 5AH Swiss movement, housed in a 14K rolled gold plate bezel with a stainless steel caseback. The original copper/rose-toned dial displays black Arabic numerals, blued steel hands, and has developed a heavy, honest patina with spotting throughout. It comes fitted on a vintage, matching Forstner 1/20-12K gold-filled bracelet with patent markings. Please note the cosmetic wear, including surface scratching on the high-dome crystal and minor gold-plate wear on the bezel corners, and refer to all photos to confirm its physical condition. The Philadelphia Watch Case Company maintained production and sales of the “B&B” trade names after purchasing the case business in 1901.Collectibility: Bates & Bacon cases were one of the most popular gold-filled cases sold around the turn of the century. These cases are very common to find paired with movements produced during this era. The “Royal” 20-Year grade is the most common case produced by the factory. Early grades like the Gem are more uncommon to find and are slightly more collectible.
