This Elgin “pentadecagon” pocket watch, or 15 sided, is exceptionally rare. Case is in beautiful condition with slight hard to see scratches and tiny bit of gold wearing visible with magnifier. Hinged back plate.
Watch is not currently running. It’s in excellent shape, it seems to have all of its original parts, has a clean, unscratched face and the face and back of the watch are in incredible condition for the age.
Hampden “Railway” special, size 18s, pocket watch, 21 jewels, adjusted to 5 positions. Very nice, running strong with no cracks on dial. On the wear dial I would place this at 98 out of 100. This is a Wadsworth case “referee”.
Identification Details. It has a visible train of gears, typical of open-face or hunter pocket watches from the era. Serial numbers in the ~10 million range for Elgin typically point to production around 1905–1910 (late Victorian/Edwardian period).
